Surplusly was inspired by real problems faced by small businesses in the UK. Many makers and SMEs deal with leftover stock, packaging, and materials that are too valuable to throw away — but too difficult to sell on traditional platforms.

As a founder and small business owner myself, I experienced this directly. I saw how hard it was to manage surplus inventory and how much waste was created simply due to lack of a proper marketplace.

With a background in finance and digital product development, she combines practical business knowledge with technology to build solutions that support makers, SMEs, and the circular economy movement.
